OMEGA BLOCK AND A COLD PATTERN AHEAD

COLD LOWS ON WEST AND EAST AND HIGH PRESSURE SANDWICHED IN BETWEEN THE TWO SYSTEMS MAKES FOR AN OMEGA BLOCK.  COLD AIR WILL FILTER IN NEXT WEEK AND THE FIRST WEEK OF FEBRUARY.  FRIGID TEMPS FOR MOST OF THE EAST COLD TO COOL TEMPS FOR THE SOUTH AND DEEP SOUTH...RTW

WIKIPEDIA:
Blocks in meteorology are large-scale patterns in the atmospheric pressure field that are nearly stationary, effectively “blocking” or redirecting migratory cyclones. They are also known as blocking highs or blocking anticyclones.
