HEAVY RAINS HEADED FOR FLORIDA

Low pressure from the Gulf I been talking about here on this blog is headed for the Southern Peninsula of Florida tonight and Tuesday.

This low could bring heavy rains and thunderstorms with the potential for possible localized flooding as it trains over the same area late tonight, and on Tuesday.

With the development of thunderstorms there is always a chance for some cells to turn severe...RTW

SOME MODELS STILL HINTING STORMY WEATHER FOR FLORIDA NEXT WEEK

Still monitoring the models for possible development of a weak low pressure disturbance coming out of the western Gulf from the tail end of the winter storm tracking east.

The arrival of this storminess if at all will be mid next week.

There is nothing significant showing up on models at this time, but this system could produce heavy downpours, Gusty winds and maybe some strong to severe storms.

It's is all questionable at this time but I will keep watching...RTW

QUESTIONABLE GULF LOW DEVELOPMENT NEXT WEEK

Seems like the GFS model has backed off some in developing a low. In the Gulf but it still shows rain and maybe storms crossing the southern half of Florida.

I also reviewed the EURO model which also shows a trough, the tail end of the Storm tracking east across the street U.S..
This model shows a possible line of rain and storms.

The Canadian model also shows a line of rain and storms.  My only question would be how strong will these storms will be if indeed they do materialize and track over the area.

I will keep monitoring model run during the next few days...RTW

GFS STILL SHOWING GULF STORM HEADED TOWARDS FLORIDA

GFS still hinting at a low pressure system maybe a depression coming out of the southern Gulf.

Yesterday's model run suggested a track across central Florida but this model run is further south.  Future model run will more than  likely flip flop to the north and south until it pin points where this so called future low crosses the state.  Still speculative if at all this will form, so I will continue to monitor it for subtropical or tropical formation into early next week.  Check back daily and check my blog for updates...RTW

FORECAST MODELS CONTINUE TO SUGGEST A POTENT WINTER STORM FOR CENTRAL U.S.

Models continue to suggest a potent winter storm system with very low barometric pressure and hurricane force winds, rain sleet and snow and severe storms over this week.  Meteorologist call this type of storms (bombogenesis).  This storm is forecast to track northeastward over Canada.

Later in the week a low pressure system is forecast to come out of the western Gulf and move across northern a central Florida.  Some severe storms could develop as this low moves across Florida.
