UPDATE TO TROUGH IN THE CARIBBEAN

An area of showers and storms that has been lingering over the Eastern Cuba, Jamaica and Haiti for the past few days is, part of a trough left behind by a departing front over the Atlantic. This trough has been tracking east and dumping heavy rains over this area. Now that this system is detaching from the frontal boundary, it remains as an upper level trough in this area and continues to produce heavy rains over the Caribbean waters and possibly Dominican Republic. These heavy rains could produce flash floods and deadly mudslides in higher terrains. A Bermuda High pressure is forecast to build over the Atlantic and steer what is left of this system toward the west-northwest in the coming days. This could enhance the rains and storm chance in the coming days here in South Florida...RTW
