What once was invest 91L seems to be hugging the Texas coast and the thunderstorms flaring up all morning are being fed by the warm Gulf waters. Strong storms blowing up on satellite all morning producing heavy rains and flash flooding along the coast.
There are no signs of a surface circulation but this system has been producing wind gust in the 30s and 40s. Earlier there was a 45 mph wind gust off shore mainly to the south of where the thunderstorms are located. I will continue to monitor this system as a depression or even tropical storm could form if it does move further off shore. Severe storms are possible with this system.
