TROPICAL UPDATE JULY 24, 2019
Tropical Update (Storm formation chance)
July 14, 2019...0421 PM EDT
Ralph's Tropical Weather (RTW)
Just to update you on the area in the northern Gulf of Mexico that NHC has been monitoring for development. NHC has dropped the formation chance down to 10% within 48 hrs and within 5-days. The reasoning for development is due to a frontal boundary that is draped across the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Most of the time when these fronts sit around in a general area for a few days or so, low pressure forms along the frontal boundary and could develop into a sub-tropical or Tropical system.
I been monitoring the models and none are suggesting development at this time and upper level conditions are forecast not to be favorable for development. It will be monitored but so far it looks like nothing to be concerned about.
