The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Northern Miami-Dade County in southeastern Florida...
Southern Broward County in southeastern Florida...

* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 1233 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms developing
over the advisory area. The coverage of thunderstorms will rapidly
increase during the next couple of hours, with storms persisting
through the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will produce very
heavy rain. As a result, the potential for flooding is increasing
across the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Miami, Hialeah, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood and Miramar.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of canals
and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well
as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
