...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flood Watch for a portion of South Florida, including the
following areas, Coastal Broward, Coastal Miami-Dade, Coastal
Palm Beach, Far South Miami-Dade, Inland Broward, Inland Miami-Dade,
Inland Palm Beach, Metro Broward, Metro Miami-Dade, and Metro
Palm Beach.

* Through late tonight.

* Additional widespread rain amounts of 1 to 2 inches with the
potential of locally higher excessive rain amounts over
saturated areas of the east coast metropolitan area.

* Potential Impacts: Areas subject to high rain rates over short
periods of time will be susceptible, leading to flooding of
canals, streets, and underpasses, as well as other areas of poor
drainage and low-lying spots. The hardest hit areas may see
water intruding on vulnerable structures and causing impassable
travel lanes and roadways.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
