I have been reviewing the satellite this morning, and I have noted a deterioration in the cloud structure in the west quadrant of Beryl. This has caused some warming of the clouds on the west side of the storm and a slight weakening of the tropical cyclone.
I have also noted that the tropical wave ahead of Beryl has a 1008 mb low pressure associated with it, and the outflow from this low pressure is blowing against the west side of Beryl.
Beryl is presently in a marginally favorable environment between a neutral and favorable upper-level environment and is gradually moving toward an upper-level trough ahead of the cyclone.
This could help to weaken Beryl down some, but it looks like the intensity forecast will keep Beryl as a Category-3 major storm as it passes over or near southern Jamaica. Beryl is still forecast to produce life-threatening winds and a storm surge in Jamaica on Wednesday, according to the NHC.
