May 15, 2025, is the start of the tropical updates from the National Hurricane Center as they track tropical waves across the Atlantic and monitor the East Pacific for tropical cyclone activity. I also begin monitoring and publishing my updates here on the blog. So make sure to check back daily for the latest on the tropics.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of America:

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 7 days.

Today, May 15, marks the first day of routine issuance of the 
Atlantic basin Tropical Weather Outlook in 2025.  This product 
describes significant areas of disturbed weather and their 
potential for tropical cyclone formation during the next seven 
days.  The Tropical Weather Outlook is issued from May 15 through 
November 30 each year.  The issuance times of this product are 2 AM,
8 AM, 2 PM, and 8 PM EDT.  After the change to standard time in 
November, the issuance times are 1 AM, 7 AM, 1 PM, and 7 PM EST. 

A Special Tropical Weather Outlook will be issued to provide 
updates, as necessary, in between the regularly scheduled issuances 
of the Tropical Weather Outlook.  Special Tropical Weather Outlooks 
will be issued under the same WMO and AWIPS headers as the regular 
Tropical Weather Outlooks.

Este producto describe áreas significativas de tiempo perturbado y
su potencial para la formación de ciclones tropicales durante los
próximos siete días. La Perspectiva del Tiempo Tropical se emite
desde el 15 de mayo hasta el 30 de noviembre de cada año. Los
tiempos de emisión de este producto son 2 AM, 8 AM, 2 PM, y 8 PM
EDT. Después del cambio a la hora estándar en noviembre, los tiempos
de emisión son 1 AM, 7 AM, 1 PM y 7 PM EST.

Se emitirá una Perspectiva Especial del Tiempo Tropical para
