..TROPICAL OUTLOOK MAY 27, 2025.. .."STILL LOOKING QUIET".

The tropics are looking quiet for now.

Remember to begin checking your supplies and your plan of action before the season starts.

  • It's time to check your accordion shutter by cleaning the rails/tracks of any debris that falls on them during the off-season.

  • Make sure to oil the locking mechanism and make sure it is functioning as specified.

  • If you have panels with rails and wingnuts, oil the screws that the wingnuts are screwed into.

  • Check your roof for loose tiles or shingles. It's better to take care of these problems now before the storm arrives.

  • Change generator oil, drain old fuel from the tank, and check the spark plug. The fuel filter may be clogged, so if you never changed it before, you may want to replace it. This is easy to replace, and the manual shows the part number and where it is located. Add fresh fuel and run the generator; make sure it cranks over. Follow the maintenance in the manual, and it will show you what to check for and what you need to do.
