The tropics remain quiet, but ensembles are hinting that it will begin to get active in the middle to latter half of September. This could also be an active October and closer storm development to home, as moisture is building there and water temperatures are prime for strong development.

Eastern and Central Tropical Atlantic:
A tropical wave is forecast to emerge offshore of west Africa by 
Friday.  Environmental conditions could support some slow 
development of this system over the weekend and into early next 
week while the wave moves toward the west or west-northwest at 10 
to 15 mph over the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
