..TROPICAL OUTLOOK JUNE 2, 2026..

 

The tropics remain relatively quiet across the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. However, an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms has become more active over the Gulf this afternoon. The European model, along with several other forecast models, indicates the potential for low-pressure development over the next several days.

While confidence remains low at this stage, the possibility of a tropical depression—or even a weak tropical storm—cannot be ruled out if the system gradually becomes better organized as it moves northward or northeastward. At this time, the National Hurricane Center has not highlighted the area for tropical development, but it is something worth monitoring closely.

So far, none of the major forecast models suggest the development of a strong or significant system. There is no immediate cause for concern; this is simply a feature to watch as we move through the early part of hurricane season. As always, I will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if conditions warrant.

Los trópicos permanecen relativamente tranquilos en el Atlántico y el mar Caribe. Sin embargo, un área de lluvias y tormentas eléctricas desorganizadas se ha vuelto más activa sobre el Golfo esta tarde. El modelo europeo, junto con varios otros modelos de pronóstico, indica la posibilidad de que se desarrolle una zona de baja presión durante los próximos días.
