EVEN THE MOST SEASONED MET'S CAN MAKE MISTAKES

Before going to bed last night around 1025 PM EST I reviewed radar and noticed the line of rain and embedded thunderstorms headed southeast for South Florida.  I shared the radar loop on Facebook and at added this statement, "Rain and maybe strong storms overnight South Florida, and you can't rule out an isolated tornado. Good night!"

I did not want to leave without posting my last report of the approaching line of showers and embedded storms, without warning my FB Friends that we could not rule out an isolated tornado over night.

Well Around 11:20 PM while watching TV in bed one of the Local Meteorologist, and I'm not going to mention who or what channel it was on, because I am not here to discredit any one just as an observation that even the most seasoned Meteorologist can goof up on their forecast even with all the tools and technology they have available.

This Met said that this line would be weak not severe and there would not be winds of 45-50 mph. Well as I looked at the National Weather Service Alerts I get via email this morning, I noticed advisories for Significant Weather and tornado warning in Broward. Thank GOD there were no injuries with severe storm possibly a rain rapped tornado in broward that NWS MIAMI is investigating this morning. It is always important to keep your NOAA weather radio on Alert just in case the weather changes for the worst while you are asleep.  Be storm ready!  Here are the advisories I received over night.

SPSMFL from 3/14/2017 12:20 AM to 1:00 AM EDT for Broward County, Mainland Monroe County, Miami-Dade County: Significant Weather Advisory for 45 to 55 mph winds for southeastern Collier Mainland Monroe western Miami-Dade and southwestern Broward Counties Until 100 AM EDT.

STARTING TO SEE SOME STRONG STORMS OUT OVER THE GULF

Starting to see some strong cells out over the Gulf waters with some rotation makers.  We could see some of these cells turn severe over land if they hold together Central West coast just beware of the possibilities of strong to severe storms coming on shore this evening...RTW
