..INVEST 90L MORNING UPDATE JUNE 12, 2024..

1. An area of low pressure (Invest 90L) over central Florida is forecast to track northeastward over the Atlantic, and it could slowly develop into a tropical cyclone or subtropical. This system could possibly affect Newfoundland by Sunday. As this system continues to move away, the moisture tail will pull up more moisture over Florida, and this means the potential for more flooding. By Sunday or Monday, the moisture over Florida will shift into the Gulf of Mexico, increasing rains in that region.

2. Models have been hinting that a broad area of low pressure will develop in the Bay of Campeche (BOC) early to mid-next week. Some of the models suggest a tropical cyclone making landfall over western Mexico and bringing heavy rains into the region. Upper-level conditions also seem to be somewhat favorable in the BOC. This will be a short-lived storm system due to its proximity to the Mexican coast.

..TROPICAL OUTLOOK JUNE 11, 2024..

NHC is monitoring low pressure development and possible tropical depression that will also enhance more rains over Florida as it track east northeast into the Atlantic.  Refer to National Hurricane Center
for the latest updates.

Models are also hinting at development in the northern Gulf and Southern Gulf.  All this is uncertain as there is no consistency among the models.  EURO and ICON is hinting of a possible depression with heavy rains or a storm moving onshore the Mexican coast in the Bay of Campeche in the Southern Gulf.  GEM model suggesting a storm in Texas and the GFS model has toned down a bit not as aggressive as it was a few days ago. As for now we monitor and be Storm Ready because forecast are uncertain.

All this moisture over Florida will move over the northern and western Gulf by next week as forecast model suggest.

RTW

WPC shows a (Slight) risk for excessive rainfall during the next 4 days then a (Marginal) risk.

Total Precipitable Water forecast show an abundance of moisture tracking northeast over Florida.

SPC shows (General thunderstorms) for Florida during the next 3 days.
