SURFACE TROUGH PRODUCING SHOWERS AND STORMS IN THE GULF

I been monitoring the blob of storms in the western Gulf and so far it is not developing tropically.  There has been a flare up of strong thunderstorms seen in white colors circled on satellite.  Winds have gusted up to 56 mph according to buoy in the area.

Another observation shows that even though its gusting that high at times the barometric pressures are high and are not falling in this area.  This is simply a strong to severe thunderstorm over the open waters producing this gust.  Some of these rains and storms are moving inland as I type to update.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected at this time.
