...TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE OFF THE SOUTHWEST COAST...MORE RAINS TONIGHT AND WEEKEND...

There is a trough of low pressure sitting off the southwest coast of Florida that has been producing strong showers and storms off shore.  This is formerly known as Caribbean Invest 95L that moved across the Florida straits over night producing heavy rains and storms.  Models suggest that a weak low will track north and east across the state over the weekend dragging moisture over the state tonight and over the weekend.

When you have lows coming from this direction they tend to produce what they call upper level lift in the thunderstorms and this lift also produces a spin the the thunderstorm clouds.  Although tornado are not forecast for Florida a strong thunderstorm can spin off a waterspout and funnel clouds or even and isolated tornado, this is just a heads up.

Another FYI is that we could see minor coastal flooding tonight during high tide and if there is heavy rainfall this could make this minor coastal flooding a bigger problem than anticipated.
