...CENTER OF INVEST 91L STILL OVER THE NORTHEAST TIP OF THE YUCATAN PENINSULA...

Center of 91L is located near the northeast tip of the Yucatan Peninsula.  This system remains detached from the core of thunderstorms that are east-southeast of the center of circulation.  As long as the center remains over land development will be slow to occur. However, where the center is located i am seeing thunderstorms developing at this time.  Will see if that burst of storms persist and expand in size over night.

A cold to the north will help steer a depression or tropical storm Alex toward the northeast or east-northeast and this will drag heavy, rains, gusty winds and you can't rule out isolated tornado over Florida on Friday and Friday night.  There is a potential for flash flooding due to excessive rainfall with these type of systems so be prepared to take action if your area is prone to flooding.  Air Force Reconnaissance did not find tropical storm force winds but enough winds to categorize this as a Tropical Depression.
