Well we are now seeing the 91L moving away from the coast of the Yucatan. This means that 91L will have a chance for development over the warm waters of the Caribbean as it tracks to the northeast. You can't rule out a tropical storm as some more intensity models are now hinting that Alex could form. However, as it moves north of western Cuba upper level winds are bit stronger, so we will have to see if they will have an affect on 91L.
Regardless if it develops or not, this system has the potential for heavy rains that can produce flash flooding. So Western Cuba, the Florida straits, and Southern Florida should continue to monitor the progress of Invest 91L.
