...NEW STORM INVESTIGATION OFF THE COAST OF AFRICA...POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE FOUR A POSSIBLE FLASH FLOOD THREAT...

 

ANOTHER STORM INVEST POSTED THIS MORNING OFF THE COAST OF AFRICA WITH A LOW CHANCE 0-20% CHANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT AS IT TRACKS ACROSS THE ATLANTIC WITH SAHARA DUST FILLED ENVIRONMENT.  

PTC #4 STRUGGLED ACROSS THE BAY OF CAMPECHE AND IS APPROACHING THE NORTHEAST COAST OF MEXICO WITH HEAVY RAINS.  THESE RAINS WILL SPREAD INLAND OVER MEXICO AND SOUTHERN TEXAS WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODS.  THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK FOR EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER SOUTHERN TEXAS.  THIS SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM CHANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT 40-40%.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

Active Systems:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Potential 
Tropical Cyclone Four, located over the western Gulf of Mexico.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.

Eastern Tropical Atlantic: 
A tropical wave located near the west coast of Africa is producing 
disorganized showers and thunderstorms.  Environmental conditions 
are expected to be marginally conducive for gradual development of 
this system while it moves westward to west-northwestward at 15 
to 20 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic during 
the early to middle part of next week. 
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
