Today we are experiencing warmer temperatures, partly sunny skies, and a chance for garden variety showers and thunderstorms.
A warm front will be tracking back over the state, making way for a stronger cold front this weekend. A secondary blast of cold air that will make its way into Florida. We could have the coldest temperature so far this season on Sunday morning.
Temperatures are forecast to range from the lower 50s to the upper 40s for the Miami Dade and Broward areas, and for Northern Florida, 20s, Central Lower 30s, and the West Coast could also see 40s, as well as the Lake Okeechobee area. I will continue to monitor the forecast.
Winds will also increase behind the front and become gusty, so wind chill advisories maybe required for some areas and also marine warnings.
After this arctic cold front reinforces the freezing temperatures over the country, a big thaw is expected, and the melting ice could cause flooding issues in some areas.
