..HURRICANE MILTON UPDATE OCT 8, 2024..

Westerly shear was affecting the northern eyewall earlier as Milton moved into a marginally favorable to unfavorable wind shear area. Regardless of the shear in the latest satellite, it shows Milton Eye closing back up as shear from the west continues. This shear hopefully will weaken Milton a bit before it makes landfall. Milton still has to travel over loop current where more hot sea surface temps are located, and this could help Milton hang on to its major storm status. Follow your local EOC and emergency manager and heed the advice.
