Tropical Update Storm Invest 98L and 99L

1.  The weak low center of Invest 98L is now over Southern Florida.  As long as the low is over land development is not likely at this time. However, as this system moves toward the northeast and over the Atlantic water this system will more than likely attain either sub-tropical or tropical characteristics and may be even hurricane status as some of the models have suggested.  Showers and storms have been mainly off shore with some moving inland along coastal areas from Ft. Lauderdale north to Palm Beach.  Some of these cells rotating inland have prompted marine warnings and yesterday their were reports of a water spout. So you can't rule out an isolated water spout, or tornado.

Miami-Dade has been relatively dry due to we were closer to the center that is void of any storms.  There is a chance of some storms moving inland over Miami-Dade, today as the Sun heats the surface and enhances the development of thunderstorms off shore along the circulation of this system.

NHC wants residents from Northwest Bahamas, South Florida, Central Florida and along the northeast coast to monitor the progress of this system.  South Florida is not under any threat its just a precaution they take.

2.  Invest 99L continues to show signs of organization and thunderstorms are beginning to return near the center of circulation.  This system is disregarding the Sahara dust and dry air to the north of this low.  If this trend continues we could see a depression or even a tropical storm form today or Sunday.  Most of the models have been shifting south of previous model run favoring landfall along the Lesser Antilles from the central to northern leeward islands.

This system has to be closely monitored specially those who live in the Islands, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.
