If invest 98L strengthens to a tropical storm, then it would be influenced by a cold front/trough that will drop into the Atlantic as invest 98L or Ernesto moves over the northern Leeward Islands or Puerto Rico.

This front will help pull the storm system northward over the Atlantic, where there will be weakness in the high pressure ridge between the Azores high pressure and the Eastern Sea Board. Now if the system does not strengthen into a storm, then a track to the west-northwest or west will continue. Dry air seems to be hindering development, so development should be slow to occur.

Most of the models suggest that a turn to the north will occur, but if you remember, we also saw the same scenario with Debby's model run. So until we see development into a storm, it's a watch and monitor update.
